An experiment at night (part 2)

In my previous post, I talked briefly about an experiment I did with my mostly working Pentax Spotmatic and a random roll of black and white film I was gifted. I enjoyed the results of that experiment so I decided to do it again.

This time with a roll of Kodak 800 film salvaged from a disposable camera that was gifted to me by my colleague Kevin.

I knew the results of this were going to be vastly different than my original experiment because I was using colour negative film this time, rather than black and white.

The Super Takumar lens that I have on my Spotmatic is one of those famous radioactive lenses that yellows over age. I've never really used this lens because of that reason, but since this was an experiment, I felt now was the time to see what that yellowing does for colours.

Also, since this was 800 iso film, I was interested in seeing how much more light was gathered compared to my idkwhatspeed black and white film I used before.

In the end, the colours that came out of this were killer.

Everything ended up super moody, and had this underlying warm tone (all those yellows and greens!). I'm not sure if I'd do the same combination of yellowing lens + colour film in the daytime. But for night photography it looked great.
