Yashica Minitec AF Review
There was a period of time where I was frequenting my local thrift store, grabbing random film point & shoot cameras to try out.ย I basically didn't want to shell out $300 for a Nikon 35Ti or Olympus Stylus Epic, so I figured trying a bunch of $5 cameras was better.
(this was a dumb idea. I've stopped doing this because...god dammit, I own Zeiss glass)
Of all the cameras I've tried, the Yashica Minitec is one of my favourites.
When I found this at the thrift store, myย immediate thought was "this looks like a poor man's T3."ย It's a plastic build, but still sports a 33mm f/3.5 lens.ย Not a bad lens for sub $5 CAD.
The pictures that come out of it areย decent.ย ย

My biggest problem with this camera is it's very flash happy and there's no option to turn off automatic flash.ย There were situations where I took this camera out on an overcast day, and the flash would still fire.ย It's a pain when you want a certain look to a photo,ย but have no choice and have to live with the blown out flash look.
